my apartment is a mess.

when you are a guy and you live alone certain things just make sense. like having a pile of clean unfolded laundry on the far end of your couch for 3 days b/c you don't feel like folding it up and putting it away. or say, a camelbak w/ sweat-stained straps on your floor laying on top of trekking poles and hiking boots near the door, b/c that's where you threw it down on sunday when you got back from your hike.

or say...a 1 1/2 foot stack of papers that need to be either filed away or shredded, on top of a drawer of files. dirty socks under the table. a hammer on the countertop. a thick layer of dust on all exposed surfaces. shall i go on?

i'm gonna need to do a spring cleaning soon...not this wknd...or next...but probably the one after that.

this guy is discounted from $400 to $165. seriously. i just bought it (i'm trying something new, sorry canon).

they're all on sale, but i don't know why you wouldn't want this one. it's got rad features (hopefully the photos will be awesome too).

reconsideration

of letting the gym membership lapse to save money b/c i'm all set up to work out at home w/ the weights, the yoga mat, and the exercise ball.

especially when it's 96 degrees in the apt.

why did we ever meet

i don't know why so many of my best friends in LA have decided to move away to somewhere that seems way cooler. let's go down the hitlist:

1. shaygo and rogray (brooklyn)
2. the jL (tanzania)
3. M (D.C.--so they're not all cooler)

in any case, it's happened again. lance moved to berlin last monday.

to celebrate his time in LA, we met up with mutz in santa barbara and did a day drinking wine at the tasting rooms/wineries in los olivos.

we stopped at nojoqui falls. when the falls are going off, they look like this:

wine tasting was good too. too bad it's 96 in LA now and all my wine is probably shitty now.

soul artistry

in my favorite movie (until ALMOST FAMOUS came out), SINGLES, matt dillon, playing the rocker, dick poncier, refers to himself as a "soul artist."

it's an awesome bullshit thing to say about yourself or anyone else. it's completely meaningless and nonsense.

i think you hear it alot in relation to surfing. like it's good for the soul. it's an art of the soul. it's about being a soul artist.

anyways, all the surfing and yoga i've been doing lately has reminded me of soul artistry. arts of the soul, getting in tune w/ mother nature, and getting grounded with the earth. recognizing the power of the ocean.

i had a few friends at the wedding so i flew in on thursday. the wedding went in a few phases. from thursday afternoon through sunday afternoon. all of which were great. one of the best though was the end. i got to hang at the airport with nic and rene:
