haha. i had to do a little trolling to find a small picture of meghan mccain. i didn't want to shock you all with giant pictures (the first ones that come up on google image search).
anyways, she went to my college. and it's awesome to read her mastery of the english language. idioms, etc.
here she is weighing in on the spain prime minister's daughters' photo release quasi-controversy.
"I want to start out by saying I can't believe there is a country that exists where the media protects children of public figures, let alone the prime minister's daughters. It is literally hard for me to fathom that there is a place that respects the privacy of underage children of politicians and diplomats."
literally hard? really? like as opposed to soft? it's literally hard for you to fathom? oh christ.
it wasn't even an interview. it was something she wrote and got published here.
look, this is no, "fool me once, shame on...shame on you...you fool me, but you can't get fooled again." no, that was a yale and harvard grad.
columbia grad just doesn't know what "literally" means.

btw, i'm on twitter. iamsummerfox
when i started not many of my friends were on. and i subscribed to a few celebrities--namely, lance armstrong, p.diddy and jimmmy fallon. now i just follow my friends, and i undid all the celebs. except: the star of the 3 yoga dvd's in my possesion, shiva rea. and my favorite on twitter is bengals own, chad ochocinco.
he's pretty awesome. like these are his last few tweets. he saw the color purple the musical at the aronoff center in cincinatti and just went bananas talking about musicals and dancing. and is also getting behind breast cancer awareness...
football players are the only athletes left in the world who aren't bland pre-packaged babies. (jeter, kobe, etc.--talented, but they will never speak their mind at a press conference and they are a complete snooze--like i wish michael phelps just talked about being a huge pothead all the time)

two guys drinking coffee, eating brunch at the alcove
jk: dude, it's hilarious to come here in our early 30's and there are all these 20 year old kids that look mad young.
mc: i know, they're all hungover and had crazy nights.
jk: last night i passed out on my couch watch PLANET EARTH on dvd at 9:00, woke up at 12:00, read comic books for 2 hours, tried falling asleep for 2 hours, and then got up two hours later to watch a soccer match.
mc: that actually sounds awesome. at least better than being hungover today.
jk: what did you do?
mc: spent two hours trying to get my 10 week old daughter to bed. i was pretty close to having my wife drink some scotch so the baby could get some through her milk.

talking on the phone about anna karenina
jk: part IV is so crazy.
eu: i know, but her husband, why did tolstoy have to make him so bad?
jk: huh? yeah, the story kind of ends for me at the end of part IV. i don't even remember her husband that much.
eu: oh, i see.
jk: if you wanted to talk about dark characters and stuff, that's cool. i just liked the gay parts.

pela are the best
i was thinking of buying tix to see the pains of being pure at heart this wknd, but they are $15. and i'm being super cheap recently.
first heard the band on a KEXP podcast. (btw, you all should subscribe to the one for live performances--hit or miss, but mostly hit).
then remembered that i really liked the pela podcast better. these guys are like springsteen meets guided by voices and billy bragg, etc. check these youtube videos of acoustic version of songs from their new, unreleased album.

loading it up
i've been gone and busy for a very long time and no time to blog. although admittedly, blogging is a low priority in my life these days.
instead of drawing it out though, since i've got some time tonight i'm doing this all right here:
first thing's first. last month, i had the best time in carlsbad surfing and hanging out. one of my favorite things that happened was i went to moonlight glassing with M and mm and got a tour of the surfboard glassing shop. also got to demo the owner's board.
those glassed on fins are beauties.
this is how stoked i am.
here's me, not quite ripping it, b/c i'm dodging this guy and don't want to damage the board.
uh, here's mm. as you can see, there wasn't much to work with in the water.
went to chicago. had fun with the "candlelight" setting on my camera:
ate chicago dogs
plus a guy fiere diner/dive
went to olafur eliasson exhibit at chicago contemporary:
and the zoo:

went to sf to hang with some of the cutest babies in the world as seen on this blog, plus here:

...and now i'm exhausted. gonna do the wedding later. plus...

friday, music
flings is the name of the band i started. flings things is the name of my first EP.
che trasho posted some of my mp3's online for music i made. click here.
i wrote all the songs since march of this year. concerted effort to make lyrics emotional b/c i want to get better at writing that kind of thing.
this is the first song that came up on itunes today for me. here's a video of an acoustic version:
